The term Carbon Footprint is used allot nowadays. It refers to the amount of CO2
that you produce in your everyday life. Most things you do produces
Carbon Dioxide which is the main cause of global warming. The carbon
footprint is calculated from many different factors in your life which
includes surprising aspects like food miles. Now many of these aspects
have to be sorted out by larger companies but they are not just to
blame. For example, when shopping, shop for local produce which have
not travelled thousand of miles to get to your plate. Please visit our
links section for links on how to calculate your carbon footprint and
visit our shop for ways of reducing yours.
GLOBAL WARMING
Global warming refers to the term of the average
earths temperature increasing. Global warming is caused by a build up
in greenhouse gasses for which CO2
is the main contributor. These green house gasses trap the suns rays
within the earths atmosphere which is gradually warming up the average
temperature of the earth. This by itself does not sound to serious till
you take into account the effects that this has on everyday life. The
effects on us are serious, increased flooding, droughts and a higher
regularity of severe weather conditions. In the UK the differences will
be very severe effects from flooding, droughts, storms and more. Sea
temperatures will raise which means many low lying areas of the planet
will be lost forever. In respects to Bangladesh, well over 50% of the
country will be lost!
